Common Questions

UK Skilled Worker B2 English FAQs

Clear, verified answers to common questions about immigration compliance, degree exemptions, and test scores.

Under updated UK Home Office regulations (effective for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants from 8 January 2026), applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency at CEFR Level B2 (Independent Vantage User) across all 4 components: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. This is an increase from the previous Level B1 requirement.

For IELTS for UKVI (Academic or General Training), CEFR Level B2 requires a minimum score of Band 5.5 in each individual component: Listening 5.5, Reading 5.5, Writing 5.5, and Speaking 5.5. A high overall band (e.g. 6.5) will NOT qualify if any single component drops below 5.5.

Outside the UK, the Home Office accepts four approved test providers: (1) IELTS SELT Consortium (IELTS for UKVI), (2) Pearson (PTE Academic UKVI, minimum score 59 in all skills), (3) LanguageCert (LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B2, minimum 33/50 in each component), and (4) PSI Services (Skills for English UKVI B2). In the UK, Trinity College London ISE II is also accepted.

Yes, but only if your degree was taught in English and has been officially verified by Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) through an Academic Qualification Level Statement (AQLS) and an English Language Proficiency Statement (ELPS) confirming CEFR B2 equivalency.

We provide 100% private 1-on-1 coaching on Google Meet led by Syeda Qandeel Fatima (MA English, official IELTS Band 8.5). We conduct an initial diagnostic test, identify your weakest skill (usually Writing or Speaking), and drill official Cambridge/Pearson exam papers until you reliably hit Band 6.0+ across all four modules.

With our intensive 1-on-1 format (4 classes per week with daily homework corrections), most motivated candidates bridge the B1-to-B2 gap in 4 to 6 weeks. Our students don't waste time on group lectures—every minute is spent speaking and refining exam-specific tasks.
